Message Routing and Connectors in a Co-Existence Environment
I'm sure this is an easy question, but the more I look at the information to more confused I get. Hopefully, one of you will clear it all up for me!My target environment will have a number of Exchange 2000 / 2003 servers in multiple routing groups, along with new Exchange 2007 servers, of which the transport hubs will be on dedicated servers. I know by default a RG Connector will be created between my selected legacy Exchange RG and the system labled RG for Exchange 2007. My questions are: I have a number of SMTP connectors to foriegn mail systems located in a legacy RG. If the RG connector exists between that RG and the Exchange 2007 RG will mail flow automatically from Exchange 2007 mailboxes, through the RG connector, and onto the connector for the foriegn mail system? If I create a new connector on a Exchange 2007 hub transport server, will my legacy clients in the legacy RGs be able to utilise that connector by routing mail through the system RG connector? Is there any configuration I need to do to the system RG connector to ensure mail flow (with the excpetion of perhaps adding in more BH servers)? Will mail flow to my new Exchange 2007 connectors from legacy RGs that don't have a direct RG connector to Exchange 2007. i.e. They currenlty only have a RG connector between each legacy RG.Hope this makes sense and TIA
