Message Tracking Exch 2007
I have an outside email that tracking says it was received by SMTP and Deiivered by the Storedriv - subject is right, seems that the message size indicates that it has attachments (which it should), but when I do a search of the persons mail box the message can't be found. Not in the various spam or deleted folders. The other recipient of the same message did get the message. So, as that old song says, 'oh where, oh where has the message gone'? Thoughts would be appreciated- are there any other fields that you can expand in the tracking results since, after a point, it just seems circular? TIA.

Perhaps the user shift-deleted it.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Perhaps the user shift-deleted it. Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." Yes, that is what I would expect as well. I believe message tracking more than I believe the user. Simon. Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.

Search for the message using EMS instead and if it was delivered to the user, the messagetrackinglog will tell you. Example: Get-TransportServer | Get-MessageTrackingLog -Start 2012-07-19 -Sender sender@somedomain.com -MessageSubject "Some Subject"Martina Miskovic

First off thanks to all for the notion of shift-delete - if that is what happened it can't even be recovered from deleted items (I tested that first). Secondly the esm (particularly with the | fl option) gives you about as much info as you will ever be able to get and it does show a delivery. So absent shifts through parallel universes there's no way to show, beyond all reasonable doubt, what happened since the user doesn't remember getting a prompt to perm. delete the item which is what happens with the shift-delete. Learned something new today. SFeder

Yes, it can. Use "Recover deleted items" from the client. >Secondly the esm (particularly with the | fl option) gives you about as much info as you will ever be able to get and it does show a delivery.
