Messages Accepted on behalf of are sent to a user each night @3:00 and filed in deleted items

Hi,

I am trying to solve an issue for one user in our organisation.  Of course, this user just happens to be one of our more important users, so getting a resolution to this with minimum disruption to the end user is key.

The user gets confirmation of meetings that have "Accepted on behalf of xxxxx" in the subject.  These meeting confirmations arrive at the same time each night and go straight into the deleted items folder. This behaviour happens regardless of the user being logged into an Outlook client or not.  We have also tested the users only accessing mail via OWA and the behaviour persists.  How can we stop these messages from being received?

Thanks in advance!

Hi All,

Firstly, thanks for taking the time to offer suggestions!

A bit more info on the situation that may dismiss some troubleshooting routes.

1) The user has no mobile device attached to the mailbox (Which I was quite happy to see as there have been quite a few posts pointing to iPhone issues with Exchange calendars.. So at least we can say it's not that)

2) Other than the permissions that are on all our mailboxes there are 3 users with full access to the mailbox.

3) The user has no inbox rules and no transport/Journal rules exist that would be applied to that user.

4) One key bit of information is that these mails appear in the deleted items folder.

Interestingly enough, we have just migrated from Lotus Notes to Exchange, so some of the comments from yscotty ring true!

I will continue to check similar threads (including some of the ones highlighted by yScotty) and hope that others have been able to resolve similar issues.  Other than that, I may be exporting the mailbox to a pst, creating a new one and reimporting... Just to see if that helps.

Thanks so much for your help so far, but if anyone has more insight, I'm all ears!

Thanks again,

Good to know about the migration factor.  Just curious, what did you use as a migration tool?    Only asking as we are also just beginning a migration from Notes to Exchange, using Dell's Quest Migrator tools.

Hey yscotty,

We ended up running with BinaryTree but I know the Quest tools are also great and a very popular choice.  The reason we went down this route is we needed an long period of Notes/Exchange co-existence and BinaryTree appeared to fit that requirement a little better.
