Messages Auto Deleting from Public Folder
We are running Exchange 2003.
We have a number of public folders that are mail enabled.
One in particular is doing a very strange thing which I cannot track done and hope someone can help with.
Certain messages being sent from a particular sender are delivered to the mail enabled public folder but are being deleted within seconds of arrival.
This is affecting messages from a single sender only but not all of their messages are being affected.
There is a message rule assigned to the public folder (using folder properties=>administration) which forwards a copy of every message received to a mail enabled user account.
The affected messages are in the public folder long enough for this rule to fire. The forwarded copy of the message is received by the user account and is not automatically deleted like it's public folder counterpart.
The deleted messages can be seen if the recover deleted items process is invoked.
If a recovery operation is done on one of the deleted messages it will appear in the public folder but will be deleted again after a few seconds.
There is no obvious commonalities in the content of the messages being affected - only that the sender is the same.
Can anyone shed any light on what might be causing this and what can be done to stop it happening.
Many thanks,
Rob Rayner
