Method of saving same version attachments in MS Exchange 2007?
My CIO has asked me that does MS Exchange 2007 store same version of any file (attachment) one in mailbox store if multiple users are sending same file back and forward or instead keeping that file individually in each user's mailbox, which may occupies duplicate space for same file version in every mailbox. If it does'nt support it then is there any software which can sort out all same version attachments in mailbox store and just point every individuall mailbox to that file path which is shared by many users?

Hi Imran,As long as users are in same Exchange database, attachments are single-instancing but not body of emails.Single Instance Storage in Exchange 2007http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2008/02/08/448095.aspxFor the users located in different databases, you may need to inform users to follow best practices to share attachments on common network share for their team and give just link in emails.I am not aware of any third party tools or software which does this automatically.Amit Tank | MVP - Exchange | MCITP:EMA MCSA:M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
