Microsoft Exchange Information Store service not stopping
Trying to reboot a server and I have stopped all Exchange Services but the Information Store service is just saying stopping for 6 hours. I see there is no disc activity any more related to the edb-files. Is it a risk to just reboot the server or might there be another way to get the service to stop gracefully ?

Something is hanging on to the service. Have you checked for dependencies? Have you tried stopping as much of everything else that you can? I have seen some AV products make Exchange dependant on them. Risk to reboot the server? Of course, but at some point you have to say enough is enough, and what happens if someone trips over the power cable? Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.

Thank you for answer. Yes I have checked and stopped all dependencies and stopped the forefront services running, but still no luck. The store.exe is about 27GB in the memory of the server ( which is normal ). Do I risk to corrupt the database by just restaring you think ?
