Microsoft Exchange certified for Virtualized Environments
Recently a client informed us of the following statement from a storage vendor.
“Microsoft does not certify Exchange, SQL Server, or SharePoint in a Virtual Environment with 7200k drives”
Does anyone know if this is correct or is it just vendor FUD.

It sounds like FUD to me. I'm not aware that Microsoft has anything regarding drive speeds in its hardware compatibility list. Storage subsystem sizing is all about IOPS and slower drives just means you'll need more of them.
