I am trying to open a Word Document. As soon as it starts opening it comes up with an error saying Microsoft Word has stopped working.

This isn't a problem with all word documents but only some have this error message come up.

Using Server 2008 R2.

Any ideas?

This behavior could be caused by either the 3rd-party add-ins/services or the document is corrupted. To find out the root cause, try the following methods:

1. Disable all the add-ins, try to open the document again. If this behavior won't occur with all add-ins disabled, try enable the add-ins one by one to find out which one might cause the problem.

2. Check if the following support article applies to your situation: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2813143

(Which is caused by certain versions of the third-party DisplayLink User Mode Driver (dlumd32.dll))

3. Try repair the documents with problem.

buena tardes, increble que siga pasando y se encuentren pocas respuestas,

despues de tantas modificaciones al word, actualizar y desactivar vista previa, complementos..., me haya funcionaro reparar el archivo, algo tenia el archivo en el encabezado con una imagen, lo curioso es que otros tantos computadores de la empresa el archivo abre corretamente

seguir sin saber cual es la causa, pero al menos despus de tantas horas qued solucionado
