Microsoft Outlook Does not display all mailboxes
Hello,I have exchange server varsion 6.5.7638.1 istalled in my organisation. On the server and logged on as administrator, opening Microsoft Outlook 2003, I can see mailboxes of most users configured on the exchange server. However, the mailboxes of a few users are not listed.I want the mailboxes of all users on exchange to be shopwn. But up to now, I have not been able to find out why the mailboxes of these users are not listed and, of course, how to make them appear in the list.I thought that this was something dead simple but has already taken quite a lot of my time.Any help from anyone who has an idea or who as already resolved this in the past is most welcome.Thank you.

Are they new users? Then, those might not be updated in OAB yet... New user does not show up in GAL http://exchangepedia.com/blog/2005/11/new-user-does-not-show-up-in-gal.html Are you able to see by opening mailbox in OWA? http://ServerName/Exchange If you see them in OWA, check for any OAL/OAB related error in application event log. Also instead of server, login on any of the workstation and open outlook there. Outlook is not recommended to install on Exchange server itself... Before you start troubleshooting on Server side could you follow simple step on your outlook and see if you can see those users in GAL Start outlook click on Tools ->click on send/receive ->click on Download Address Book then uncheck Download Changes since last send/recv and then click on OK Vinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|

Are they new users? Then, those might not be updated in OAB yet... Yes new users, which do show up in GAL. New user does not show up in GAL http://exchangepedia.com/blog/2005/11/new-user-does-not-show-up-in-gal.html This is not my issue. Are you able to see by opening mailbox in OWA? http://ServerName/Exchange Opening in OWA, I can only see Admin mailox. From Outlook 2003 I get all user's mailboxes, except these new ones !! If you see them in OWA, check for any OAL/OAB related error in application event log. They are in GAL from OWA. Also instead of server, login on any of the workstation and open outlook there. Outlook is not recommended to install on Exchange server itself... The idea of having Admin see all mailboxes is company policy. For this small company, administrators should be able to have access to all employees mailboxes. So I still have same problem !!

Yes, same Qs what Vinod asked... If you want to open mailboxes of new users in Outlook as secondary mailboxes then you need to add it manually whenever new user is created. Also you need to have full mailbox access on that mailbox. To add additional mailbox in Outlook refer below method... http://ittraining.lse.ac.uk/Documentation/OnlineGuides/Adding-Additional-Mailboxes.htmAmit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

In that case what you can do is check the permission on those MAilboxes and if still it is not showing then remove them from outlook and then re-add it Start Outlook Click on Tools -> Email Accounts Click on View or Change existing e-mail accounts and click on Next Now click on Change then click on More Settings Click on Advanced Tab then click on Add Now type Mailo box alias click on ok. Click on Apply then click on Ok, click on Next and Click on Finish Vinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|

New mailbox appears in folder view without any subfolder and 'contents'. This is symptoms of not having Full mailbox permission. Did you give Full Mailbox after user creation? Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

Hi, After reviewing the following two articles which you provided, I think that you should be able to review other users folder if you perform the steps according to the articles correct. http://ittraining.lse.ac.uk/Documentation/OnlineGuides/Delegate-Access.htm http://ittraining.lse.ac.uk/Documentation/OnlineGuides/Adding-Additional-Mailboxes.htm Nevertheless, from your symptom, I guess some steps are missed. According to following article: http://ittraining.lse.ac.uk/Documentation/OnlineGuides/Delegate-Access.htm In order to access others folder, you need to: 1. Add appropriate permission to the folder (such as Calendar Folder, Inbox Folder and so on). You can add permission to the folder by using Delegate or manually add by right click the folders 2. Add appropriate permission to the root folder (Mailbox UserName). For the folder, you have to right click (Mailbox UserName) and add permission manually For your reference, please refer to MAPI permissions section: Minimum permissions necessary to access mailbox data http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/01/25/418099.aspx Mike Shen TechNet Subscriber Support in forum If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com
