Microsoft Outlook not receiving Accepted meeting requests

Hi,

I am having an issue with not receiving meeting responses back from attendees. To test, I sent 3 meeting requests out. One to my Yahoo mail, one to my gmail, and the other to a year up email that runs on exchange server like me. I only received the response back from the year up email. So I concluded that it only accepts for exchange. So, I changed a setting in our server to allow external meeting responses and requests and still nothing. What is going on?

Charles,

not all email client can handle outlook/exchange meeting requests, including webmails. It is not a setting of your originating exchange server but is limited by the provider and email client of the addressee.

I'm not saying that yahoo or gmail does not process outlook meeting requests, but dont be surprised if you find it so.

Hi Charles,

Thank you for your question.

By default, Exchange Server are not configured to process external meeting requests or meeting responses. User mailbox could be configured to process external meeting request and meeting response by the following command:

Set-CalendarProcessing <username> -ProcessExternalMeetingMessages $true

Note "Username" is the affected user's alias.

The more details could be referred by the following link:

If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.

Best Regard,

Jim,

that setting is for the Automated response which we normally set on resource objects. It's got nothing to do with how external user responses are arriving back to exchange. Correct me if I'm wrong.
