Migrate from single sever with all roles to CCR
Got a question and hopefully this is the right forum. Currently we have a single windows server 2008 loaded with Exchnage 2007 with all roles on one server. We are getting ready to deploy an Exchange 2007 CCR Cluster and wanted to get some input on proper process. I did deploy a CCR in a lab environment and everything went well however, migrating from a single server with all in production might be a bit tricker. One thought is to create all three servers from scratch and then migrate the hub trasnport and edgtransport roles to the new server first then deploy the cluster and migrate mailboxes after that. Thoughts? TIA, Jim

Its no different than moving from one standalone to another. Mailbox moves and PF replication are the tasks. Follow the obvious (but not all!) steps in: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb310767%28EXCHG.80%29.aspx to eliminate what you need from the first box. I assume that box will be staying as CAS/HT? "jimrski" wrote in message news:46983647-d2f4-41c9-841d-6c371ecbc0d8... Got a question and hopefully this is the right forum. Mark, Thats the plan keep everything on the current server and move mailboxes to the cluster. I tried the link but it was broke. Can you send a new one? TIA, Jim

Hi Jim, I agree with Mark, It is no different than moving from one standalone to another. For CAS and Hub Server, you can record the configuration for CAS role and Hub role, and install the CAS and Hub role on new servers. Then follow the records to configure on the new servers. For the mailbox server, you can install an active clustered mailbox server, then move the mailbox from single server to the active node. You can refer to this post: E2K7 - Installation of CCR after Exchange Server has already been installed http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-CA/exchangesvrdeploy/thread/22ef18be-dddb-4143-becf-f499cc477010 Best Regards, EvanPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
