Migrating Exchange 2007 to new server
Hello,
I'm migrating Exchange 2007 SP2 to a new server. This server has a third party multi-domain cert. The new server was built with Windows server 2008 R2. I installed Exchange 2007 with SP3 and all roles.
Outlook clients and OWA seem to be pointing to the new server. They are getting a certificate error with the new server listed.
I was thinking that I should remove the CAS and Hub Transport role from the new server until the migration is complete.
Will this mess things up further?

Thanks for the info!!
The person with the login for the cert won't be available for a couple of days and I would like to stop the errors.
Should I remove the Hub transport role as well, or just the CAS?

Hi,
The CAS should be enough since the cert is only used for this part.

I'll give it a shot.
Is it safe to assume that I'll have to tell the new mailbox server to use the old CAS server when I remove CAS from the new server?

Hi,
I just reread your first post. Are you having SP2 on the primary server (internet facing)?
If so you should update this to SP3 as well, since patching of Exchange is always done internet facing first in this order. CAS, HT, MB, UM.
