Modify DAG IP Addresses

We currently have a 3 node Exchange 2013 CU8 dag.  Two members are in the same site, with a third member being in a remote site.

The (2) IP addresses currently in use for the DAG networks need to be changed.  So far I've tried adding a new IP to the DAG, confirming it shows up in the cluster manager, and then removing the old IP.  This inevitably brings down the DAG1 cluster.  I haven't been able to find documentation on how to change the IPs in a DAG network so far.

Any ideas?

Please tell us the exact and complete steps of how you're doing this.  Also tell us what IP addresses you're using.

I've never had any need to do that, so I'm taking a guess.  This is what I would try.

1.  Ensure the PAM (Cluster Group) is held by a node on the primary 10.100.20.184 network.

2.  On a primary site Exchange server, enter this command.

Set-DatabaseAvaiabilityGroup -Identity DAG1 -DatabaseAvailabilityGroupIpAddresses 10.100.20.182,10.110.20.184

3.  Wait for replication, verify that the change replicates to the DR site using Get-DatabaseAvailabilityGroup.

4.  Move the PAM holder to the DR site server.

5.  Enter this command on the DR server.

Set-DatabaseAvaiabilityGroup -Identity DAG1 -DatabaseAvailabilityGroupIpAddresses 10.100.20.184,10.110.20.184

6.  Wait for replication, verify that the change replicates to the primary site using Get-DatabaseAvailabilityGroup.

7.  Move the PAM holder to a primary site server.

You mean it remains offline even after you move the Cluster Group to the other node?

Honestly, that's the only reason I can think of why it would be necessary to change an IP address.  Why is it so important to you to change the IP addresses?
