If your using Exch, then I;d create Distribution lists/Distribution Groups and add members to that. Then restrict who can send to those by placing restrictions. If your talking about local DL in Outlook then will have to do this at the user (client) end. Sukh

this restrict mails from specific senders. what i'm looking for is that when a user wants to send mail and look into the mailing list it shows only 5 People out of 20 ppl in there! Is it possible?

It is, but you will have to create additonal DG with only those members. Sukh

What type of a DG are you using an Dynamic or a normail DG. Seems like normal. If normal, then what I'm saying is that, create one DG and your 5 memeber in there. The create another DG and other your other memebers on there, and restrict who can send to eachof the 2 DL you have created. Not sure what you actually want to be done. If a user can see 5 or 20, they cant send to them DG if they havent got permission to do so. If you want, you can hide the DG so it isnt avaliable in the GAL and just provide the email address to the end users for the appropiate email address for each DG. What is your concern? Sukh

In Message Delivery Restriction it just has two option: Accept message from and Reject message from I don't want to Accept Nor Reject messages . What i want is that i don't want my users to have permission to see all of ppl in mailing list i just want them see just ppl in their segment not every one! If they wouldn't see other ppl so they can't send mails to them!

These DG are in the GAL so they can be seen unless you hide them. So why cant you do the above. Seems like the end goal is to not allow users to send email to a particular DG. Which can be done as mentioned above. You can't have 1 DG in the GAL and expect end users to only see members in their segment. Exch cant do tihs. The nearest you will get for this is GAL segementations and this isnt avaliable yet. Sukh

I'm told they don't want the users to see the list! just specific emails! But the list is STILL available! Exch Server 2007 Version: 08.01.0240.006

Hello, I assume you want to separate your Global Address List, so that some users in your organization can see some of the users but not all. This is called "Address List Segregation" and is at the moment unsupported. http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2010/01/07/3409149.aspx Something like this will be implemented with Address List Policies in SP2, which will be released in autumn. Greetings, Toni

Exch Server 2007 Version: 08.01.0240.006 As I mentioned before, if the requirement is not to let users see the list then exch cant so this just yet. If the requirement is users shouldnt be able to see the list so that they cant sent an email to that list them put in restictions. If the list you are talking is the GAL, then the DG will still be listed unless it is hidden.Sukh

If you have restircted who can send to the DL using Accept/Reject messages then this take effect, may have to wait for replication/cache to clear. As a test, send a message to the DL (from a user who is suppsed to be restricted) and when composing the email, select the To:> In the address Book drop down>select All group and then try send an email. Also, try sending via OWA. Confirm Exch version and SP and if point 1 was completed? Sukh
