Move-Mailbox - Deletes all Dumpster contents??
Is it true that is you move a mailbox you lose all the e-mail in the mailbox dumpster? Is there any way to retain those messages when moving a mailbox?

Yes, that is true for Exchange 2007 but Exchange 2010 now includes dumpster items when performing a mailbox move.

Or use Exmerge or export-mailbox to export the mailbox and dumpster to a pst.

Export-Mailbox...Incidentally, would that work on a 64 bit platform (not sure if that is an issue for the OP or not)?I thought I read somewhere that you could not run Import-Mailbox or Export-Mailbox from a 64 bit OS.Or was that only to/from a .PST file?

Hi,If you move a mailbox across forests in Exchange 2007, items in the dumpster will not be moved unless you are merging mailboxes by using the AllowMerge parameter. Items in the Deleted Items folder will be moved.ThanksAllen
