Move Exchange 2003 advice
Hello,Our boss has purchased a new 2003 server, which he wants me to move Exchange on to it. This will be great experience for me but I am a little overwhelmed at the same time.I have waded through lots of information but still not 100% how to proceed. It would be great if somebody could advise me.Exchange 2003 is currently installed on a 2003 DC. (I am not sure what SP Exchange is on - how do i tell?)We have around 30 mailboxesI have installed 2003 on the new server and joined it to the domain and installed the following:IISWWW pubSMTPNNTPAs I unstertand it, I do not have to PREP because I am moving Exch to another computer in the same domain.I am not sure how to proceed now, should I install exchange on the new server and restore from a back-up? the server name will be different so i am not sure if that would be a problem.Or should i install exchange and then try and move the mailboxes over?Any practical guidence will be appreciated or if anybody has a step by step arcticle that would be great. Many thanks in advanceneil

Install Exchange on the new server (choose "Install Exchange Server2003 on additional servers in the domain" option) and move the mailboxes from the old server to the new one.
You'll also need to move all Public Folders to the new server (lookup the "move all replicas" command)
Are you planning on leaving the old Exchange server install running? If you are then there's not much more that needs to be done (at least that I can forsee). If you want to full retire the first server there are specific steps that need to be taken before uninstalling.

Hi. Some of actions needed are found here:

The best way is to move the mailboxes, and after both mailboxes and public folders are over to the new server I would uninstalled exchange from the dc. Also remember to update RUS
