Hi,

 

We have Primary FSW (File share Witness) placed in London and Alternate FSW placed in Newyork. Now we want to move these FSW to other location.

Now we want to move Primary FSW in Sydney and Alternate FSW in London.

 

Please let me know the steps by steps how to move FSW?

Yes. Run Manu's commands for each DAG. You could put all four properties into one command if you wanted.

If share would not have been prepared before hand ?

As per my thought we have to prepare share & set appropriate permissions & after that run the commands-

• Set-DatabaseAvailabilityGroup -Identity DAG01 -AlternateWitnessServer NewAltServer.domain.com -AlternateWitnessDirectory C:\AltWitnessDirectory 
  
  Set-Databaseavailabilitygroup -Identity DAG01 WintnessServer NewWitServer.domain.com WitnessDirectory C:\WitnessDirectory
