Move and copy Exchange 2003 Database
You can use NT to backup your databases. If you have a SAN, attach one and move the Exchange paths to that SAN.

Currently my Exchange 2003 database resides on Parition D with the following files (priv1.edb, priv1.sim, pub1.ed, pub1.stm, and IFS file). Also, on the same parition I have MSOCache folder.
The log files are located on C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\MDBDATA
The D Partition is running low on HD space with about 10 GB left. The D Parition is a RAID 5 with 3 Hard Drives. I would like to add 4th HD to increase the RAID size.
What is the proper way to backup my databases and copy over again after I reconfigure the Raid to show 4th HD? I am not sure of the steps that I need to follow.
Since my log files are on the C Drive under Program Files, can I just move the .edb and .stm files to a USB drive and then move back to new RAID without having to do anything with Log files?
Thanks.....B

Hi Bluem,

As long as you put it the same directory path (after the RAID is up again) you should be fine.Jesper Bernle | Microsoft Community Contributor 2011 Awardee
