We are planning a data center move. The new data center will be a new AD site. What are the issues around moving Exchange 2007 servers to new AD sites? Are there different procedures for the different server roles? We currently have 4 dedicated Mailbox servers, 3 Hub, 3 CAS. No Edge, no UM. Many thanks.

Just make sure you've got a hub transport server in the new site before the mbox servers. Any clustering involved?

No clustering ... yet :-) So, other than having a Hub role (and CAS too I guess) in the target site before moving any Mailbox servers, is the process as follows?: 1) Shut down server 2) Put on back of truck 3) Power up server in new datacenter We thought we'd read somewhere that Exchange 2007 servers could not be moved between AD Sites and that therefore we'd have to uninstall Exchange before the move (and reinstall afterwards) Many thanks.

I've never heard anything about not being able to move sites. Have you got a reference? I might add a pre-step of verifiying mailbox data backups b/f putting mailbox servers on a truck (one bad pothole....)
