Moving Exchange 2003 from child domain to parent.
Hi, We have Exchange 2003 server installed on one of our child domains which will be demoted soon, we are using it within the organization only (i.e., no communication with the Internet), is there a simple way of moving Exchange 2003 from the child domain to the parent domain. PS., The Exchange server already joining the parent domain as a member server.

Hi,That is unsupported which could cause e-mail outages, non-delivery reports (NDRs), and temporary mailflow problems. For more information, please refer to the below article:Moving a computer that is running Exchange 2000 Server or Exchange Server 2003 to a different domain is not supportedhttp://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;812453 ThanksAllen

The safest way to do this is to install anotherserver and move the mailboxes to it.---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP---
