Moving Exchange 2010 to another site
Hello all,
One of my customer wants to move is Exchange 2010 to another site.
The other site is from a different VLAN configuration of our actual VLAN is 192.168.50.10. We have DAG with four DB's on the primary site.
So my concerns are :
Can we move an Exchange Server to another site 10.0.0.1, or it's better to reinstall Exchange from scratch in the new VLAN. After incorporating the server into the site how hard is reconnecting to existing DAG on site 192.168.50.10.
What are the best practices to do so !!
Best regards,Stephane

Hi,
You can try to change IP for the Exchange Servers and then run IPConfig /flushdns and IPConfig /registerdns.

This isn't an issue. I have done it many times.
My usual method is to shutdown and disable the Exchange services, then change the IP address and immediately shut down the server.
Then bring the server up on the other site and check the server is working correctly (Authenticating with the domain etc). Change the Exchange services back to the default and reboot. They should startup correctly. The DAG shouldn't be a problem as long
as the two services can see each other. You may have to configure the AD sites and services information to get it to failover correctly etc. If you are using a CAS array then you will need to configure that for the new location as well.

Ah, one of my previous answers on the same procedure. Should have checked the link first.
