Moving from one Exchange 2013 server to another Exchange 2013 Server

Ok,

I have an Exchange 2013 server that I have been tasked with replacing and moving everyone off of to another Exchange 2013 Server.

It is Standard, Version 15..0 (build 775.38) with Mailbox and Client Access roles installed.

How much will the talk to each other once they are on the same domain, will the two servers replicate all setting between the two? Have lots of reading to do. I have upgraded from 2003 to 2007, setup and administered Exchange servers without issue so I do have some knowledge just never went this route before.

I am just wondering if there is any documentation to help with something like this. With the server having public folders and integrated with Unified Messaging I would like to complete this without issue and be prepared as much as possible.

Thank you,

Tom

Sorry for the late reply and thank you for your responses.

I will give the links a look and see what is the best way to proceed. I am hoping it is as easy as installing the machine and just setting it up as a new server and then moving the mailboxes over.

Thank you again,

Tom

Well I installed the new server on the domain and it seems that everything has replicated.

From what I have read I need to move the OAB, mailboxes, and Public Folders over. Will look for the best way to do these things.

I am just wondering if there is anything I am missing? If anyone can think of anything please let me know.

Thank you,
Tom

Hi,

I understand you want to move exchange 2013 to a new exchange server in the same domain.

I have found the following article for your reference:

Hello,

Yes I have seen that article and moving the mailboxes, thank you.

The thing I am kind of stuck with is moving the OAB and Public Folders. I am most likely reading more into it than I should but just cannot find a way that explains it comfortably to me.
