Moving public folders - temporary
Hello,We have in prod SCC with two mailbox servers as well as NLB-ed two Hub-CAS (EXCH2007). We are in the process of creating a DR exchange server and planning to use SCR.I built a DR server under the same organization. The problem I encountered is that the way I built it I have put both, mailbox and public folder under the same storage group. Thus, from what I have read, SCR can't be enabled. From what I have read my only option is to:1) Temporary move replicas from the DR server 2) Remove public folder (delete) from the First Storage Group 3) Create a new Storage group and create public folders under the Second Storage Group4) Move replicas back to the DR siteMy questions are:1) Is there any potential pitfalls for moving replicas from DR server to production server? In other words is it a recomended method?2) Is the process I outlined above right approach to the solution?Best Regards,Vic

Greetings, It is true that you will need to move the Public Folder database out of the Storage Group if you want to have SCR on that database. How you go about doing it depends on what tools you might have at your disposal. It sounds like you are working with only the tools that come with Exchange so your options are somewhat limited in that sense. It is good at at time like this to know what types of hidden tools may help. For example, there is a PowerShell script that can help you with moving public folder content: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb331970.aspx So, it looks like you are on the right track in getting the replicas off the DR server, moving the public folders (not necessarily removing as you have it, but creating a new storage group and moving the content over) and then replicating back to the DR site. If I'm missing something I'm sure one of the other gurus reading through will catch it and help further. I hope that helps. J. Peter Bruzzese www.exclusivelyexchange.com (MCT/Triple-MCSE/MCITP)

Per my knowledge, the option can work, as Peter said
