We are currently running one Exchange 2003 server, but need to migrate to new hardware.We have installed another Exchange 2003 server and moved one user's mailbox over. The user can send outside email fine, but he cannot receive email at all or send email to anyone inside our domain.Is there a document on how to set up multiple servers for the same domain?

If you have installed the new server in the same organization and routing group, then you shouldn't have to do anything to make mail flow between them. The new server is in the same Administrative and Routing Group. Our old server SMTP uses a smart host, which is our spam filtering server.The new server was setup the same way, using the smart host. When I removed the smart host from the new server, outside and inside email flows from the new server, but still cannot receive. It doesn't use the spam filtering server anymore and we would like to use it though.Also, when I Send/Receive from Outlook 2003 to the new server, I keep getting a (0x8004010F): The operation failed. An object could not be found error message.

You can't configure a smart host on the SMTP virtual server or else it'll screw up Exchange routing. Hi,Since the new server was installed in the same Routing Group, I suggest you create a SMTP connector to send and receive the email. And set the spam filtering server as the smart host on the SMTP connector.And for the 0x8004010F error, that is related to the OAB issue. Please check whether the Default Offline Address List was associated with the mailbox store for the new server.ThanksAllen

Okay so I'm going to create a SMTP Connector with an SMTP Address space * and configure the smart host there using the old server as the Bridgehead. Do I have to remove the smart host on the old server? Do I need to change anything on the old server?
