Multiple Mail Domains through Exchange
I have Small Business Server 2008 domain with Exchange 2007.
Every time we get a bright idea, we set up a new web site - brightidea1.com, brightidea2.com, etc. Hosting the web sites is no problem, but my users would like to be able to send and receive email as user@brightidea1.com, user@brightidea2.com and so on, via their Outlook clients and Exchange mailboxes. I can't figure out how to accommodate this.
Is it possible? If so, how do I do it?

Hi Rick,- Do mailboxes have multiple SMTP addresses (user@brightidea1.com, user@brightidea2.com and so on)?In this case, it is NOT possible to choose smtp address while sending mail and by default it will send mail from the primary SMTP address. (You can do this with some third party utility likehttp://www.ivasoft.biz/choosefrom2007.shtml)But mailbox will receive emails for multiple smtp addresses.- Does each user has multiple mailboxes with single SMTP address (Mailbox1 with user@brightidea1.com, mailbox2 with user@brightidea2.com and so on)?In this case give Send As permission on mailboxes and chosse different email address while sending email.Amit Tank | MVP - Exchange | MCITP:EMA MCSA:M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

Hi Rick,The easiest way to accomodate this is to add a new OU to active directory, you can call it something like "EmailHosting". Within that OU, you will add additional OUs for each domain. You will need to add additional UPN suffixes as well. You can add them directory to the hosted domain's OU with ADSIedit or to AD with Active Directory Domains and Trusts. You will then add each user with EMC, adding them to their respective OU. You will want to either set custom email address policies that are filtered by some setting, or just configure email addresses manually. Make sure you also add each domain as accepted domains in EMC. This is an excellent guide to more or less walk you through what you're looking for: http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/migration-deployment/shared-hosting-exchange-2007-part1.htmlhttp://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/migration-deployment/shared-hosting-exchange-2007-part2.htmlhttp://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/migration-deployment/shared-hosting-exchange-2007-part3.htmlLet me know if you have any questions.Edward SchaeferSupport Supervisorhttp://www.hostmysite.com/?utm_source=bb
