Multiple Managed Content Settings
Hi
My environment is Exchange 2007 SP1.
Currently, HR rules state that all Calendar items should remain in mailboxes indefinately.
We have a Managed Content Setting for Entire Mailbox that states "Email" should have a retention of 180 days. The Entire Mailbox Managed Default Folder is included in a Managed Folder Mailbox Policy that is applied to all mailboxes.
We have a group of users who should be exempt from this Calendar item rule. So under Entire Mailbox, we created another Managed Content Setting that retains "All Mailbox Content" for 180 days.
The question I have is this - at the Managed Folder Mailbox Policy level, you select which Managed Default Folder to incorporate into your MFP. Entire Mailbox (albeit Email items only) has already been included. So what about the second Managed Content Setting
that I set for "All Mailbox Content"? Within the MFP, there doesn't seem to be a mechanism to choose which specific Managed Content Setting I want to include in the MFP, only the Managed Default Folder level.
Any ideas? I've searched on the Internet, and there is this forum post here, which sort of gets at what I am after, but doesn't answer it!

Secondly, is there a PowerShell command I can run on, say a user, to find out exactly which policies (down to the Managed Content Settings) are being applied to their mailbox?

It does. :-)
Create a new Mainaged Default Folder and call it, say, "Entire Mailbox
- 180 Days", which you see to have already done. The Managed Content
Setting is added to the Managed Default Folder. Then the appropriate
Managed Default Folder is added to the Managed Folder Policy.

You can't do that with just one. The get-mailbox will tell you which
policy is applied to the mailbox. You'd then use the Get-ManagedFolder
and Get-ManagedContentSettings cmdlets to get more details.
