Multiple Outlook calendars and contact lists after upgrade

Hi all,

I'm in a desktop support position and I've seen this problem a couple of times. I'm told that other people have it too but haven't called in tickets yet.

The remote users are being upgraded by having the new laptops sent to them and then there's an automated process that transfers the data over using a crossover cable. The problem is, after the automated process, some of them have like three calendars and two contact lists. The calendars are all named "calendar" and the contact lists are named "contacts". One of the calendars I can delete but the other one has that option grayed out. Each calendar and each contact list has different entries so I can't just delete one without losing some of the users data. One user said that appointments entered from the laptop go into one calendar and appointments entered from their phone go into the other calendar.

My first thought was to export the data from one calendar and into the other and then delete one of them. The export seemed to go but, during the import, I don't see an option to put the data into the other calendar. It only lets me import back into the calendar I just exported it from. The contact lists act pretty much like the calendars do.

My coworker and I looked at it over a remote connection and eventually gave up. I just didn't see a way to fix it.

I'm a desktop guy which means they don't let me touch the servers. Is there something that can be done on the user's desktop or is it something that has to be addressed from the server

Tried recreating the e-mail profile and that didn't fix it.

I'm told that uninstalling and reinstalling the software is the fix but I'm skeptical since I can log the user into a different system and it comes up the same. Maybe I'll try it and see.

Reinstalling the software didn't fix it. Does anyone have any ideas?

Please go to his account setting and check how many Exchange account shows in the box, remove the duplicate one.

It seems that the issue is not caused by Outlook client site but there is something wrong on user's mailbox. Try to use MFCMAPI tool to identify the duplicate entries. Read the following support article to get the detail steps to solve the problem.

Wow, I think this is what I was looking for!

I'm off for the holiday but I will try it the next time it comes up.

One user today dragged all the items from one calendar to the next and then deleted that calendar. It was kind of tedious but it seemed to work ok. If I understand correctly, it seems a bit like what the above solution is doing.
