Multiple domains
Hi,I am new to Exchange and we are getting ready to start offering exchange email to our clients. I have the trial version of exchange 2007 and I am trying to setup multiple domains for the selector.. So that the same alias can be used but on different domains... I went through the accepted domains and added them their, but they do not show up in the selector.. I understand I can use email address policy to change to default email address, put I want to have add different domains with different address books... Do I have to set this up in AD? Right now in AD I setup an OU that is called clients... Then I setup OUs in that for the different clients.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Rob

Let us take an example, Your messaging server accepts Mails for 2 different SMTP Domains, Ex : @Domain1.com, @Domain2.com 1.In the Accepted Domain add these 2 Domains2.Create Seperate Email address policy for the 2 SMTP Domains with different priorities. " If you need Can also assign these Policys to users who have a specific attribute in AD" Check out the below article on creating Address lists in Exchange 2007 "Three Parts"http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/management-administration/address-lists-exchange-2007-part2.htmlhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124384.aspx

Thank you for the information. I was able to get all of the users setup and they have their own address lists, and in web access they can only see their own address lists. One final question.. How do I setup external access?Meaning... If I am on the server and go to localhost\owa I am able to get in... Also, when I use Outlook on the server it finds the server and connects...I pointed a domain name call exchange.domain.com to the server and setup an mx record called exchange.domain.com... I went into the EMC and put in the external domain names as follows:OWA - exchange.domain.com/owaActive syn - exchange.domain.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSyncOAB - exchange.domain.com/OABWhat am I missing? I can not connect from Outlook or access through the web... What do I need to do in IIS6? (Using Windows Server 2003 R2)Thanks you

Hi Again. I read some white papers and I got the WebAccess to Work, but when I connect throught outlook it is giving me an error stating that the server can not be found. Is there a port that I need to free up? Or is there something in Exchange that I need to setup??Thank you.

Hi,I think you may need to publish CAS server to the public so that external clients can find the CAS server from internet. Also you can use Outlook anywhere for those external client to use mailbox.Publishing Exchange Client Access with ISA 2006 - The Complete Solution (Part 1)http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/mobility-client-access/publishing-exchange-client-access-isa-2006-complete-solution-part1.htmlRegards,Xiu

if you are trying to connect over internet than Outlook anywhere must be configured on Excahnge 2007 server.. Similarly if you are having ISA we must publish the URL.
