Multiple front end Servers in Exchange 2003.
Hi All, We have 4 Exchange Servers in our organization. 2 Servers are in US and 2 Servers are in India. All are in one Administrative Group. EXUS01 and EXUS02 are in US and EXUS01 is designated as a Front End and EXUS02 is Back End Server. EXIN01 is a Back End & EXIN02 is also Back End Server. My question is can we have multiple Front End, Can we designate EXIN02 as a Front End for India. What configuration needs to be done for the same.Abhishek

at present EXIN02 is backend server which means it is hosting mailboxes and may be public folders. so you cannot make it as FE server. either you can deploy a separate server and designate it as FE server How to Designate a Front-End Server http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998713%28EXCHG.65%29.aspx Front-end server considerations in Exchange Server 2003 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822443 Vinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|
