Mystery dimension showing on layout

I have been working on a factory floor layout.  This 40'-0" number just appeared today, in the middle of the layout, and I have turned on/off every single layer to try to find what it belongs to, but no luck.  Even when I turn off ALL layers, it's still there, sitting by itself.  I have no 40' anything in the vicinity, so I can't figure it out.

How can I get rid of this thing?!

Thanks!

(and I would've attached an image, but my account hasn't been verified, and I don't know how long that takes)

It sounds like it's a shape called Controller Dimension. Open the Drawing Explorer window and see if you can find one.
Another option would be it's part of the Room or Walls shape that has been ungrouped. Have you ungrouped any such shapes?

Hi,

Is this issue occur to all the drawings?

And try to create a new drawing to check the issue.

If the issue does not occur all the time, start Visio in safe mode to check the issue.

Thank you both!

Jaynet - it doesn't occur to all drawings, just this one.  I added a new page to the existing drawing, but it didn't show up on the second page.

Paul - I looked for a Controller Dimension in the drawing explorer but wasn't able to find one.

And this thing is so big (and was started by someone else) that I can't remember if I've ungrouped a room or wall group.

I've even tried copying all of my shapes and pasting them into a new drawing, but it stayed with it.

Any other ideas??

It's almost certainly part of a Wall or Room shape that has been ungrouped. If you ungroup (and they should *never* be ungrouped) these shapes enough then these dimension shapes appear. The shape won't have any sensible name, probably of the format Sheet.xxx and I'll guess that the only way to find it would be by trial and error.

Copying or anything else isn't going to get rid of it.

Update:  I started mass deleting shapes in sections, and wouldn't you know it, the last thing left on the page was this border type thing on the outsides, and when I deleted it, the 40'0" disappeared.

This shape was leftover from the previous owner.  I would like to keep it's essence, just minus the 40'.  Can anyone help?  Thanks!

Email me a document with just that last shape on it and I'll have a look.
