I have a simple question. I am running NTbackup as a temporary solution until I get my permanent backup software (netbackup). I am running backups nightly but have now need to run a full log clearing backup. Will the be ok sinnce I will be moving the the new software withing a couple of weeks?

Sure, you can always restore with NTbackup if required. You really should be clearing the logs with every backup. There is no advantage to waiting to do that for your permanent solution.

Agree with Andy..Only VSS backup is not possiblem with NT backup else it work same as others.You can use NT backup solution efectivley till you do't have other solution.Anil
