I have an Exchange Server SBS 2003. Have had a problem with sending large amounts of spam. Have changed all users passwords, scanned everyone for viruses, check to see if we are an open relay (no) and disabled the postmaster account (seems to still be coming from this account. You can check the Message header from where the spam is getting in , if its an internal server then look if there is any script is running or machine is infected with sort of virus. If it's outside you can block at firewall level, hope will be using any kind of firewall, there you can block.

checked the header and found that it is an external IP will attempt to block at firewall.

SBS probably has some wizaed or another to configure your Exchange server so it doesn't accept e-mail sent to addresses that aren't in your Active Directory. If this was just plain old Exchange 2003 server you'd do that like this: First, enable filtering for recipients which are not found in Active Directory. 1. Exchange System Manager -> Global Settings -> right-click on Message Delivery and choose Properties. 2. Select the "Recipient Filtering" tab. 3. Check the "Filter recipients who are not in the Directory" box 4. Click OK Next, enable the recipient filter on the SMTP Virtual Server. You only need to do this on the SMTP virtual server that is receiving emails from the internet. 1. Exchange System Manager -> Administrative Groups -> Administrative Group Name -> Servers -> Protocols -> SMTP. 2. Right-click on the SMTP Virtual Server and select Properties 3. On the "General" tab click the "Advanced..." button 4. Choose the IP binding that that is listening on the Internet and click the "Edit..." button. 5. Enable the option "Apply Recipient Filter" 6.
