Need help recovering CAS server
We had a CAS server crash hard (unrecoverable.) Unfortunately someone brought up a new replacement server with the same name and IP before i could reset the old computer account, so i can't do a setup /m:recovery installation. ..Or
at least i think i can't. It's just the OS they installed, not Exchange. In any event, can someone point me to specific instructions on how to replace a CAS server that's gone and hadn't been gracefully removed? Something tells me i'll need
to remove it via ADSIEDIT. If i can still use /m:recovery i'd be thrilled, but i suspect that opportunity is gone now.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Is the new server joined to the domain (if not this might mean that you can still use the /recoverserver - you should try anyway)?
Did "someone" delete the old computer acount from AD?
If they did I guess that the server is removed from the exchange organization.

Hi,

Can you rename the new replacement server? And then you can add the CAS server into the domain with your original name. And run Setup /m: recoverserver.
