Need to remove crashed Exchange 2010 server from EMC
After having tested Exchange 2010 on our TESTSERVER, the server crashed before I could uninstall Exchange 2010 from the TESTSERVER. Because this was a test environment I did not bother to recover the server, I just reïnstalled the server but then without Exchange 2010. I then installed Exchange 2010 on a new server that is ment for production named EXCHANGE. When I start the Exchange Management Console on my EXCHANGE server it also shows the old TESTSERVER in the Server Configuration. How do I remove this TESTSERVER from the EMC? I get only error messages, because the Exchange 2010 does not exist anymore on this TESTSERVER. Thanks in advance, Harry Veenkamp MMP BV Netherlands

hi, please try to delete settings and records for your test exchange server 2010 via Adsiedit. but be carefull when you doing that action. if you delete the production servers' records your messaging system can halt. and backup your system before do it. regards, Mumin CICEK | Exchange - MVP | www.cozumpark.com | www.mumincicek.com

Doesn't that have an effect on the reïnstalled test server that has the same name again?

No it doesn't Just pick the test server and nothing else :) Also like Mumin said, it could be good to have a fresh backup before doing that.Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, Configuration | MCITP: EMA | MCSE/MCSA Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog

That might work fine if you have lots and lots of time. Or maybe it won't uninstall either. -- Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." .
