Network Connections Service
I am running Exchange Server 2003 Standard SP2. I cannot log onto the domain. The network connections service just says "starting." I do not get any error messages, nothing in the event viewer. Any suggestions? thanks

when the service finishes "starting" it may fail. if it does, there should be info in the system log. Is the rest of the domain ok? Anyone else having login issues? Look on the domain controller's logs too.

I had to disable the service and restart the server, otherwise it would never time out. I recieved an error 1053. I also had an Event ID 100 at the same time saying svc host (796) the database engine has stopped. I have had to run the network ID on some WinXP sp2 machines, after that they connect. I didn't see anything on the DC event viewer.

what is the text from event 1053? The time service isn't critical to the computer starting... unless its more than 5 minutes out of sync with the DC, but even then, it shouldnt prevent coreservices from starting.

Thanks for the help Mike. I realized it was looking at the secondary DNS, which was on the exchange server, when trying to connect to the domain. I deleted that and was able to connect to the domain and send and recieve email.
