New-EmailAddressPolicy

Good afternoon!

I ask to help me, please!
Mnei need to create a new policy of creating SMTP address:
e-mail should be: the first letter of the name + first letter of last name + last letter of the last name
Please explain how to select the last letter of the last name, preferably by means of powershell

Thank's !

As far as I can see, that's simply not an option. Perhaps someone very proficient could script something like that in PowerShell but I think you would be better off using one of the standard options.

Are none of the other options suitable? Most organizations manage with one or the others.

Hi iliaftkl,

you can check the syntax of SMTP addresses in email address policies here

For starters though: You can't select last letters, however you can grab the alias, so if you make the user alias comply to your naming convention (which can easily be automated in PowerShell), and make the email address policy grab the alias ...

Cheers,
Fred
