New AG's information store is not visible while creating a new mail box
Any services stopped on server2? Also run ExTra on server2 to diagnose. Microsoft Exchange Troubleshooting Assistant v1.1 http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=25213James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

I would run ExBpa against the server as well and do a Permissions and Health Check. http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=22485

Hi, i am a newbie to exchange 2003 server. i have a problem when creating a new mailbox for a user. i have two Admin groups(AG) with one exchange server on each AG. AG1- server1-user1 AG2-server2-user2 (i was able to add the user few days back) 1 DC is running on server1 i am trying to add the user3 on server2, but the server2 and mail box information store details are not visible in the Exchange Tasks wizard. i made sure the the store is mounted on the server2. i am able to ping both servers from each machine. i even tried sending a email from user1 to user2(of server2) and got the delivery report for that too. but i am not able to access user2's mail box either from OWA or from outlook. outlook shows couldn't connect to the server.owa shows "505 service unavailable "error after the successful login. someone please help me on the things i need to look into to resolve this issue. Thanks, preni. Thanks, Preni.

Hi, I ran ExTra tool and it didn't show me any errors and all checks are fine. Testing Mailflow, database and all shows no error messages. I also ran ExBpa , it showed me some report , but it seems nothing to with this particular scenario. And the Permissions and the Health Check went fine , no errors. One thing i want to know here is how these wizards are getting these values and from where and can i see those records using some kind of tools? Please also let me know if i have to check anything else. Thanks, Preni.

Did you compare the permissions from AG1 and AG2?James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

Yes James, i compared both AGs permissions and both look same and have access and i don't think i touched this one. One more thing, i am also not able to access the user2's mail box from either OWA or Outlook. In Outlook, it says " could not connect to the server", but i am able to ping to server using IP address as well as the exchange server name. In OWA,the login page appears and after authentication, it shows " HTTP/1.1 505 service unavailable". The Outlook was working fine for the user2 a week back, then i moved on to other topies and testing the settings. i remember changing only one thing in the server2 is that i changed this server to front end server. after that i am checking this only now and am getting this error. Do you think the front end server setting has anything to do with this issue? thanks in advance. Thanks, Preni.

Yes changing that to the FE would exhibit this behavior! Uncheck it and reboot.James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

Hi James, i unchecked the setting and rebooted the system. It is now working perfectly fine. Thanks a lot for the help. I had enabled this setting because the tutorial i am using said you can have the mail boxes onto a server designated as front end server. now that we were not able to access the mail boxes exists on the front end server, could you please tell me what is the real use of this server except acting like a front end server? or do you know any technote or MS site telling the features of the front end server? ThanksThanks, Preni.
