New Exchange Enviroment
Hi, We will be migrating from Novell to exchange in the near future. Our current environment consists of a Win2k3 Domain with 8 regional offices with a max user count in each office ranging from 30 to 75 users. All offices are connected with MPLS. My questions are as follows: Should we have one exchange server in our enviroment located in our data center. we currently have Groupwise Servers in all these offices, no IT staff in the smaller offices, so the users swap tapes. Have a hot site with replication for DR Use Clustering connected to our SAN High Availability Do you think the one server is best in a central location using exchange caching? what type of hit will there be, if we keep everything in our datacenter, on the network. Thanks for any input.

1 and 2. I think its a good idea to centralize and i would definitely reccomend using SCR (sp1) at an alternat site in case of datacenter failure 3. Clustering is great, but weigh your options. With Exchange 07, you could do SCC, CCR or LCR As far as a hit, it'll totally depends on your users and your volume, so i can't make a guess for you. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb201729.aspx
