We are currently use a third party to host email. I have been given a project to design a new email system. We have about 200 users and don't really need all the bells and whistles of exchange 2010. I am pointing towards setting up a 2007 Exchange server. I have began installing it on a Windows 2008 R2 server. I have just read it's not support... Questions are 1: Should I intall this on a different OS?2. What would be the best platform?

Yeah you'll need to wait for Exchange 2007 SP3 before you can install it on 2008 R2. The supported operating systems are listed here: Exchange 2007 System Requirements http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996719(EXCHG.80).aspx

Hi Nix,I agree to Mike.Yes, you can install on a windows server 2008. Or, you can install on a windows server 2003 64 bit as well. I also wanted to add that "the bells and whistles of exchange 2010" are worth it!!!:)
