New exchange in organization - remove original server
Hi, We have main exchange server at location 01, and three more exchange servers arround the world. First server is also main SMTP gateway to the external network. There are some hardware problems, so we have to move it from the network and replace with new exchange server which will be installed on separately new hardware machine. Our main idea is this KB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822931/en-us. Is everything described at this KB article or we need to setup any other exchange options? Thnx.

Hi,Thanks for your confirmation. Just please let me know if we need to setup on addidional exchange servers? There are 3 more servers arround the world and all of them are connected to currently first Exchange and sending/receiving mails through this main server. When we implement a new server a move all roles to this new server, would other server have a knowledge to accept these changes or we have to setup it manually?Thnx

Hello,They will have a knowledge since almost all the configuration stored in AD. Just verify that Remote Bridgehead servers in routing group connectorshave your new server entry to route emails. Moreover I would suggest that after following all the steps in KB and before uninstall to be safer side, shutdown your old server for sometime to make sure that everything works smoothly.Amit Tank || MVP - Exchange || MCITP - Exchange 2007 || http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
