New users not showing under the Global Address List Exchange 2003
I've read multiple articles on this issue but I can't seem to find a solution that works for me. I've created two new users in ADUC along with mailboxes for each. Both accounts can send/receive emails but do not show up under the Global Address List in outlook but do show up under the All User list. Neither user has the "hide from exchange address lists" box checked. I created one user on Friday before I left and one this morning. I didn't know if there was a time limit on when they are supposed to show up or if I missed a setting when I created the accounts. I don't think it has anything to do with how the Global Address list is being pulled because I created a new user account about two months ago and everything came out fine for that one. Is there a limit to what the GAL will list? I wouldn't think there was a limit on that. Exchange 2003 running on Server 2003... All clients run XP Pro. Office 2003. Any assistance or advice anyone can give is thanked in advance.

Does it show in GAL of Outlook Web Access (OWA)? If yes then it is offline address book issue of local outlook client and you candownloadOAB in outlook client manually by going into Tool menu -> Send/Receive -> download GAL...

Hi, This sounds as it could be normal behaviour. I would like to confirm whether the Outlook 2003 was running under cached mode. Please understand that Outlook 2003 in cached mode uses the offline address book which gets generated once every night not the live GAL and after that it might take some hours before this OAB gets downloaded to the clients. To view the live GAL, we need to uncheck cached mode by opening Outlook, click Tools, click Account Settings, double click the account. Of course, if you still like to run Outlook under cached mode and wish to see the change immediately after creating a new user you must generate a new offline address book and then have the clients download this new OAB. The detail steps are as below: First, open the System Manager (ESM) and expand Recipients and Offline Address Lists. Right-click on Default Offline Address List and select Rebuild. Second, have the user select Tool, Send/Receive, Download Address Book in Outlook. Thanks Allen

I love it when it is something as simple as that, it always reminds me of Homer.... Doh!!! Shouldn't the offline address book be updating itslef or is this something every user will have to do when I add new users to the domain? Downloading the OAB worked by theway.
