No Results for message tracking
Hello, My organization is running Exchange 2007. Everything works great except for the Message Tracking Center. It was working fine until recent. When I do a search in the Message Tracking Center it starts the search and never does anything. No results. No error. Nothing. The log directory is logging activity as I can open the raw log files. Any ideas on where to look? I can't seem to find any configuration options for the tracking center itself. Please advice! Thanks in advance! Grace grace

What log directory are you talking about? What do you see when you run: Get-TransportServer | fl Name,MessageTrackingLogEnabled,MessageTrackingLogMaxAge,MessageTrackingLogMaxDirectorySize,MessageTrackingLogMaxSize ? Hi, At first, I would like to make sure if message tracking is working. So could you please send a test mail first? Are you able to see the message tracking log under: C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Transport Roles\Logs\Message Tracking. If not, you could try to restart MSExchangeTransportLogSearch.exe service. Then could you please check are you able to get the message tracking log via EMS? You could do it follow this article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124926(EXCHG.80).aspx If CMDlet runs without problem, I believe the problem is one of the following: 1. Microsoft Exchange Troubleshooting Assistant is corrupted 2. WMI service is corrupted (the display of the query results involves WMI) 3. The tracking log contains abnormal events so the query results cannot be corrected parsed by Microsoft Exchange Troubleshooting Assistant/WMI Here is my troubleshooting suggestions. These suggestions do not depend on each other so you can try them in random order: Suggestion 1. Install EMC (Exchange Management Console) on a workstation and check the Message Tracking again. Suggestion 2. Make a backup of all the files in the “Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\TransportRoles\Logs\MessageTracking” folder of the Exchange server, then empty this folder. Wait for new logs to be generated. Check if we can query the new logs in Message Tracking.
