No custom colors for conditional formatting of incoming messages in Outlook 2010

Is it possible to get any more font colours in the conditional formatting section for incoming messages? I expect the short answer is no but am wondering why. The problem is that several of the colours already there are not really suitable. The lighter colours in particular being hard to read on a white background and some of the darker colours being too close to the default black.

I use the conditional formatting to colour code emails which I have categorised. It would be great if I could at least use the same colour font as the category colour but even this appears not to be possible.

So why the restriction? Outlook is obviously capable of displaying fonts in any colour so why limit it to 16 for conditional formatting of messages? Especially when some are unusable.

Or am I missing something?

Thank you for your feedback.

I could confirm there is only 16 colors in Outlook 2013 Conditional Formatting feature by far. Although the design meets the most users' needs, however it is still not perfect. Please be assured that any improvements in the product are based on users' requirements. Our developers strive to capture Microsoft users' ideas and are working hard to create a more powerful and easy-to-use product.

Thanks.
