No mail delivery Internal/external exchange 2007
we have ONE Exchange 2003 server and I added ONE exchange 2007 server. I created a test account on the 2007 box, and I am able to receive e-mail from both internal and external e-mail accounts. However, I cannot send from the test account
either internal nor external. I've doubled-, tripled-, even quadrupled-checked the SEND connector between the two exchange servers and it is there.
Did I forget to turn on another switch /permission somewhere else?

Do you get any NDR when trying to send?
What does your SMTP log say?

Thank you for getting back to me.
This is my first experience installing Exchange so please bear with me.
My Outlook client got the first bounce-back four hours after I clicked SEND, "Delivery is delayed to these recipients or distribution lists". Then eventually "Delivery HAS FAILED to these...".
I'm not sure I have logging turned on, where should the file be (I accepted defaults upon installation).
Thanks.

I think my messages are never leaving the Exchange 2007 environment. Messages are allowed in, but nothing is allowed out. They should be sent to Exchange 03 server which routes them from there, correct?
June 8th, 2010 1:28am
My Routing Group Connector is verified (this allows Exch07 and Exch03 talk to each other, correct?), and there is a SMTP Send Connector that appears to have been duplicated from the Exch03 server (this is for outside world e-mail, correct?).
What else am I missing?

Ok..
Are there any firewalls between?
If no, you could try to delete the existing routing group connector and create it manually

I'm pretty sure both servers are on the same side of the firewall.
I will try to delete and re-create, and will update.
Thanks.

- OK i deleted and re-created the RGC, and I still cannot get e-mail out of Ex07 to Ex03. I verified port 25 is listening.
- I also went to Queue Viewer and deleted one of my many test messages. An error code of 4.3.2 was sent back to the originating test sender's mailbox
Thank you.

The previous discovery was from earlier today, here's more...
- I am now running the Exchange Mail Flow Troubleshooter, and may have found the problem, but definitely need some assistance in resolving. I selected symptom "Messages are backing up in one or more queues on a server", and am at the "Checking Status of
SMTP queues" step and I see statuses "'Remote Delivery' Queue (Ex00.DOMAIN.com) is backing up", and "'Remote Delivery' Queue (Ex00.DOMAIN.com) is in retry", where Ex00 is the name of our old Exchange 2000 server. Does this mean Ex07 is trying to route through
our Exchange 2000 server instead of the Exchange 2003 server?
Some background...When we went from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003, we never de-commissioned our Ex00 server because we had some Exchange Instant Messaging users. However, the Ex00 server crashed last year and we went to another Messaging Application without
officially removing the Ex00 server from the Exchange environment. The Ex00 server is still shown in Exchange (03) System Manager under First Organization - Administrative Groups - First Administrative Group - Servers.
I also see a 3rd status message, this one has to do with the SMTP Connector. It says the "'Remote Delivery' Queue (SMTP Connector: connector-name...) on server Ex03 is in retry status...Destination server does not exist."
The DOES NOT EXIST puzzles me since I know Ex03 server is available. Could Ex07 be pushing outside world e-mail to Ex00 thinking it's Ex03 here?
Again, many thanks.

Hello,
1) Deleted the routing group connector from E2K3 & e2k7 server.
2) Restart the SMTP on E2K3 Server & Transport service on E2K7 Sever.
3) Recreate a Routing group connector from E2K3 with correct Bridge head server between E2K3 & E2K7.
After that Restart the SMTP on E2K3 Server & Transport service on E2K7 Sever.
It will fix your problem.MicroSoft Exchange Admin. & Connector EXCHANGE2010, MCSE, MCTS, MCSA MESSAGING, CCNA & GNIIT

I tried the steps but still not working. When I do step 3, how do I know which Bridgehead is specified? We have ONE EX-03 server and ONE EX-07 server, with the EX-03 server listing as the bridgehead.
I am following technet aa997292 to create the connector

FINALLY I HAVE FOUND THE SOLUTION TO MY PARTICULAR ISSUE:
See
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrmigration/thread/6712ad95-39e2-42c5-ab45-72bfc6ac9ab2/
look for suggestion by a2353535 posted January 14, 2009. I added the IP of my Exchange 07 server to "only the list below" and it works. It finally works.
Thanks to all
