A customer is looking for change his ActiveSync ports from (80, 443) to something else. Is this even supported by Microsoft? Everything I have found says its not.

Let's start with the clients.  Does this customer really believe that mobile devices would support that?

I would assume so. It sounds like a nightmare to me.

I've never heard of what you're asking, and I doubt Autodiscover will return a port number in the URL it provides for ActiveSync.

You asked if I though the customer beleived that clients would. Based on the fact that he asked for this change I think its fair to assume he beleived it would work. So not sure what hostilty was for in the response. However, I do agree with you that Autodiscover wont work but some devices do accept port changes but not all. In the ten years I have been installing and upgrading Exchange I havnt had this request. What I was looking for was some kind of official MS document or blurb somewhere that says its supported or not supported. I was unable to find either.

1) Make a new website listening on port 444 from IIS Manager SSL enabled Same Cert as Default Web Site Same Listening IP Configure the external URL on ActiveSync as in Default Web Site

2) Assign Exchange Active Sync to use the new website from "Exchange Power Shell" This means Active Sync will now also listen on port 444.

3) Remove Exchange Active Sync to use the Default Web Site from "Exchange Power Shell" This means Active Sync will not listen on port 443 anymore.

I found this as well thank you. I think I'm going to hold on doing it until I can confirm its a supported scenario.
