Not Archiving All Emails
Our users are using Outlook 2003, Exchange server 2007. When I manually archive email before a given date, it doesn't archive all of the emails. These emails have not been modified, copied, or even replied to. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to which are archived and which are left in the original folder. I made sure that "Include items with do not AutoArchive" was checked, even though no autoarchive settings were selected. If I archive everything in a folder, by selecting tomorrow's date, then all of the emails are archived, even those that did not archive when selecting a date in the past that should have included them. How can I tell why some emails are not archiving, and how can I get it to archive all emails before the date I specify?

This article is for Outlook 2007, and my users have Outlook 2003. Also, the user in question is trying to archive manually, not setup auto-archive. When she told me about the problem she had, I tried it and got the same results: when I enter any date (other than tomorrow's date to archive all email in the folder), it archives some emails but not others, apparently at random. The emails in the folder that I chose to experiment with had not been modified. When manually archiving in Outlook 2003, how can I tell why some emails are archived and some are not? When manually archiving in Outlook 2003, how can I get it to archive all emails before a selected date?

Hi, Does the issue occur when trying to archive emails via Auto-Archive feature in Outlook 2003? Can you manually move certain un-archived email to the archive folder successfully? Please understand that we only discuss pure Exchange questions in this forum. Regarding to the issue, it is related to Office Outlook 2003. It’s highly recommended to create a new thread in Office Outlook forum. Thank you for your understanding. For your reference, I have enclosed the Office forum link below: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/outlook/threads Meanwhile, to manually archive the emails in Outlook 2003, I would like to share you the following articles: http://office.microsoft.com/en-ca/outlook-help/archive-a-folder-manually-HA001121610.aspx Thanks.Novak Wu-MSFT

As I said, the user is trying to archive manually, not use auto-archive. That's why I ended with this question: When manually archiving in Outlook 2003, how can I get it to archive all emails before a selected date? But I'll try the question again on the forum that you suggested.

I understand that the issue occurred on manually archiving the emails. To troubleshoot the issue, it’s necessary to use Auto-Archive feature to archive the emails and check whether all emails can be archived or not. If not, this issue can occur by corrupted emails or Outlook profile. This is just for troubleshooting. Since the issue is related to Office, you can create an Office thread for further assistance.
