When double clicking a Excel file the application launches but the file it self will not open. The file has to be opened by browsing to the file from inside the app. Windows 3.11 here we come.....

I guess ther is a setting somewhere, I have not been able to find it, anyone help.

Select File > Options.

Select Advanced in the navigation pane on the left.

Scroll down to the General section.

Make sure that the check box "Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)" is clear (not ticked).

Click OK.
