I am using Microsoft office 2010 when I send mail with attachment but thunderbirld users are not receiving mails in proper format. They are receiving in .bat format. kindly help me.

I assume when you say they're receiving .bat files you actually mean .dat files? Most likely winmail.dat?
If that's the case then the most likely cause is that your email is configured to send using Rich Text Format (RTF), but that's a Microsoft format and doesn't work with many 3rd party email programs.
When you create a new email, select the Format Text tab and check which format it's set to use. Realistically you should only use either Plain Text or HTML if you want to ensure the message can be read by people not using Outlook. If it was sending in Rich Text you can change the default by going into File, Options, Mail, and then change the "Compose message in this format" drop down to your required format.
