Not seeing attachment from External emails
Just wonder if any come accross this issue and how to resolve. Exchange 2003 with latest SP and patches including the OS. Users are able to receive external attachment but every once a while they notreceive the attachment. For trobleshooting this issue I engaged the external client to send the email with attachment to two email accounts and they both reside in the samestore. One user recived the attachmemt but the other did not. Did a message tracking on both users on the same email and the size are different. The user recieved attachment in message tracking size are lot bigger compare to the other user not receiving the attachment, whichtell me somthing removed the attachment before it arrive at the user mailbox and why it only happen to one user not the other. Now for thesame attachment if I send using my yahoo or hotmail account and the userreceived okay. Any help would be much appreciate. Thanks

Exchange IMF does not filter attachements.If it blocks a message the complete message is blocked and not only attachements You should check what is in front of exchange (SMTP gateway or SPAM filtering) Deli

Hi Deli Thank you for the reply, in our environment all the external inbound emails arrived at Lotus Notes Server first, if the recipient located in Exchange server it will forward the email via Exchange Notes Connector Server. According the Notes log file the email does have attachment because the size is around 1MB but message tracking on the Exchange Notes Connector Server for the same email the size is around 5K which telling me the attachment got stripped, so somewhere alone the way between Note Server to Exchange server the attachment got stripped.
