Could you run an ExBPA health check if you haven't already? Are you in the midst of a 2k7 move?

A health check will look at your GAL and its permissions for errors. Are you trying to solve a problem or determine an error code?

Seems to imply that the OAB in question is pointing to a non-existant AL. This is not the case, but I'm curious to know how you matched this to the error c10306cd.

This GAL was not manually created, and has matching permissions. I'm looking for a cause or any clues to what this error code indicates. Other than of course "something didn't work building the OAB"

I googled the error code to find it :-) Seriously though. I health check from ExBPA is worth a shot. Its easy and may point you right to your issue.

Have you seen this link?http://blogs.msdn.com/dgoldman/archive/2007/06/28/the-exchange-2003-or-2007-oab-generation-process-fails-to-generate-an-oab-and-logs-error-9301.aspx You might want to make sure Authenticated Users has rights to Read, List Contents, and Open Address Book on the corresponding GAL object...

Like a good boy I of course had googled the error before posting, and no I found nothing either.ExBPA isn't showing any problems.I was hoping someone who could actually tell me what that error code means would be watching this, but I guess that isn't the case. It sure would be nice if error codes were either readable or researchable, else what's the point really? Well I guess the next person to run across "c10306cd" will get 2 results back from google not 1. Of course, they won't be anything other than other admins with the same problem.

For that sort of deciphering, you have to call PSS....'internal only' documents.

Hi, how many GC's you have in your network ? try to make your Exchange Server 2003 connects to another GC under your network, for your GAL and RUS, and after that try to generate the OAB again. please let me know the result. Regards, Alaa Al-Ankar

I have 2 GCs in this site, and would have to schedule maintenance to make this change, but the same error is being seen in our development environment so I am skeptical that this would make a differance. May I ask why you suggest this?

It looks like the AD objects are created fine but the PFs below the site folders are not being build by the maintenance process -- what would cause this?
